Quote,
"...good enough to get him away from the ever sunny state of California..."
It reminds me of a song in the 70s - It never rains in the Southern California by Albert Hammond.

Hi, I've only recently got back online after my enforced absence so I thought I'd check out what you've been up to. Hope it works out. It's nice to have possibilities isn't it, whether they come to anything or not. more…

I understand completely. I left England more than 20 years ago, and still sometimes feel like a displaced person. Like I'm no longer English, nor Australian.
You're right though, it does come and go. Sometimes it goes away for quite a while :) more…

Falk,
She giggles a lot and plays with her hair when you are around - that a good sign. You haven't got long so ask her out quickly before someone else does, remember the ball? But don't tell her you drove a mini ;)

thanks for your comment (especially the last part is kind of touchy).
well... it comes and goes...
unfortunately it tends to come back when you just think you're over it...
nevertheless i still hope that i really do come to the point where i am really over it somewhere in the future...

FGosh I'm so sorry to hear you feeling so shitty-
Such a shame...
I can sympathise with your feelings of dislocation where part of you feels like you are from one country and at the same time you don't feel completely English... I think there are more and more people like that now a days because we are all travelling and immigrat more…

Hi Falk
I can't work out exactly Ellen said, my German is so bad. I only got a "c" at GCSE :( and I have forgotten most of that. So if I am saying the same thing I'm sorry Ellen.
Black tie is a black dinner suit, black bowtie and cumberbund. Most black tie occasions do you let you wear coloured bow-ties and cumberbunds - more…

Schatzie,

amelia, it's nice to see that there are people out there that share this matchless experience...

Flak,
I don't have kids myself but I still can see it must have taken quite a bit of work for you and P have managed to keep the relationship with Vincent out of it. That perhaps why you have been able to put your past behind you and be friends again. I am sure that has made it so much easier for Vincent.

wow. touching story there.you were lucky enough to find someone to love and be friends with at the same time for many years. some people go thru life looking just for that and it always eludes them. I am sure you agre greatful for that relationship and the joy(your son) it brought you.

I can very much relate to your past history...I am P's age and I too met my partner when we were both 15. I would even go as far as to describe the initial attraction as similar...undefinable.

phinebooty, that sounds like a pretty good description. these experiences are just hard. the ups and downs... sometimes i quite enjoy them.
imagine a life without downs. you couldn't appreciate the up's anymore as you wouldn't realise them. everything would be supposed to be pretty idle...
how boring would that be?

I really like what you said 'girl in charge' about "feeling alone, we walk in crowded streets, trying not to bump into each other, or look at each other."
Its a wierd world isn't it- we're encourage to go to uni and then set ourselves up in a flat- all far from interaction with others, whether it's family or friends-
